Coach Dyar was an All-State basketball player at Marion

County High School in 1940. He played on the school's undefeated State Championship Team in 1940. Following college he became both the football and basketball coach at Cherokee Vocational High School. He coached at Cherokee from 1948 to 1954 and was instrumental in helping to establish the great tradition the Indians have in high school athletics. The greatest compliment to Coach is the respect his former players have for him and how he touched the lives of so many Cherokee athleties. he was elected to the Marion County Hall of Fame in 1996.
